Field of Membership

Once you become a member, you are always a member, provided you maintain an active open account. This means you can carry the benefits of credit union membership even if you move, change jobs, or retire.

To begin enjoying the benefits of credit union membership, simply complete and print the form located under Membership Application. Return the signed application to the credit union office along with an initial opening deposit of at least $5.25. Membership Applications may be submitted in person.

Account Ownership

Individual Account - Owned strictly by you. Information or funds in the account are not available to anyone else.

Joint Account - Account is established in two or more names. Each joint owner can make deposits, loans, withdrawals, inquiries, or close the account.

Membership Information

Membership is open to any person or persons living or working in Monessen, Donora, Rostraver Township, Sewickley Township, East Huntingdon Township, South Huntingdon Township, Sutersville, Smithton, Madison, West Newton, Mt. Pleasant or Scottdale and their family members.

It’s very simple to become a member. Just pick up an application at the Credit Union Main Office, 815-819 Schoonmaker Avenue, Monessen, PA, 15062, Branch Office, 100 Sara Way, Belle Vernon, PA  15012, or  apply on-line by clicking on Home Banking for an application.

Important Information About
Procedures for Opening a New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: when you open an account at Valley 1st Community FCU, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.  We may also ask to see your drivers license or other identifying documents.
