Check security measures that make a difference

Security precautions begin with the paper.  Liberty incorporates many safety measures into the check itself to protect your account.

  • Thermochromic ink: Check this out yourself!  The words "Original Document" are in temperature-sensitive red ink on the back of the checks.  Touch or breath on the words and they disappear, demonstrating the authenticity of the check.  As the security area cools, the words reappear.

  • Microprint signature line: When "MP" appears next to the signature line, the microprinting feature is in effect.  The line may look solid.  Actually, it is made of tiny words that cannot be duplicated on a laser printer.

  • Padlock icon: Is a lock on the face of your checks?  If so, that indicates that your checks contain security features recommended by the Check Payment Systems Association.

  • Security screen: The words "Original Document" are visible on the back of your checks.  Because of the screening, these words are very difficult to duplicate.

  • Ultraviolet feature: Security is not only what is seen, but what is unseen as well.  Invisible blue and green fibers embedded randomly on your check become visible when exposed to an ultraviolet light source.

  • Safety-void feature and multi-stain security paper: Double the staining process, double the security.  Liberty's paper vendor pre-stains the paper then Liberty adds another stain.  The result: Lady Liberty and the word "Void" in seven languages appear when exposed to bleach or other chemicals that could be used in check washing.

  • Qualicode® order verification: Liberty's patented order verification system allows for quick verification that check orders are padded and delivered accurately.

Check reordering safeguards make a difference

Security is paramount in Liberty's online check reordering program.  Our online reordering program does not include your account number or your credit union's routing and transit number.

In fact, Liberty is the only check provider that offers this secure system for reordering checks.  When you reorder checks through Liberty's online reordering program, they use a unique reorder identification number.  This number is located on your reorder form inside the check box.  Another safeguard must be used in combination with your unique reorder ID for added security.

What’s more, your information is private.  Liberty uses the information only for check order processing; we do not use this data or sell it to another vendor.  You can review our privacy statement for more information.

Liberty safeguards your information and your checks throughout the ordering process - from placing the order to printing the checks to mailing the documents.  Whether by the Internet, phone, fax, or mail, placing a check order is one of the safest and easiest things you can do.

Order it any way that works for you.
